It was with great sadness that we learnt that Dr James Evans recently passed away.
James was a highly esteemed statesman in the chiropractic profession and the community.
Amongst many senior leadership roles he was President of the Victorian branch of the Australian Chiropractors` Association (1987), assumed a range of academic positions at RMIT University as well as running several successful private practices over many years.
As he approached retirement, James felt compelled to expand the reach and impact of his great gift for healing by caring for people who experienced hardship and were underserved in society.
In 2007, James` exceptional clinical skills coupled with his passion for teaching led him to assume the role of clinical supervisor of the Hands on Health student chiropractic clinic at the Sacred Heart Mission (SHM).
Throughout these years James kindly shared his knowledge and clinical skills with countless students who cared for their patients at the Mission`s HoHA clinic, and as graduates, continue to fondly remember his generosity of spirit, infectious enthusiasm and quirky sense of humour.
His legacy lives on through the many people he mentored, healed and reached out to in his extraordinary personal and professional life.
